'Overcome Pornography'

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have performed therapy specifically for the last 10 years. I have seen over a thousand clients with pornography and sexual addiction specific issues. There are many techniques and tools a therapist could give you to succeed. One tool of many I give my clients is they have to start changing their environment when they are struggling with withdrawals. I have told clients that when they can't get the thoughts out of their mind to get up immediately and run around their house twice. This gives them a moment to distract themselves from the intense thoughts and possibly by the time they finish, they have won a battle. Good luck All --Paul

Aloha! with some jokes aside I've been addicted to pornography for 10+ years. It started right about the time Aol IM came out. Pronorgraphy addiction is very serious, matter of fact I just looked at Pornography before coming here =/. There are too many things in life that can cause someone to become addicted to porn, and not enough to help them. If you're not the type of person who would look at porn when you're away from the PC, then you should try and stay away from the PC (when you're alone), Doing on-line work @ work is a good idea, or at an internet coffee shop. Anywhere where you know you won't be alone. It alters your character too much (depending on the level of addiction). Just recently I thought it would be funny to look up the effect that porn has on people (aside from marriages (some chicks are into it. Takes away from romance I'd think). I found an article on a feminist who predicted that men would become addicted to pornography.. I feel she is right & Wrong. It has nothing to do with your ability to resist looking at this material.. If you look at it too much, you're addicted. There are other forms of pornography you can look at, without becoming addicted.. Unless you like art ;)! On-line/Playboy/playgirl you can become addicted to, renassaince art, probably not. Another thing, t.v. ad's i.e.-Girls gone Wild. What a retard "idiot" (not mentally challeneged), that thought that up & even allowed it to be aired. I hope a lot of parents have been arguing over the removal of that.. and I hope someone shoots the guy that gets rich off of it.. but my psychotic behavior is for another time ;). I can avoid MTV no problem.. If I want to watch a channel with idiots I'll watch the news. Anyways-If you're addicted to porn, destory/give your pc away.. get rid of the junk inside it first ;P. "Here's a gift for your school-work little Susy, click..click.. "Uh! Uh!, Uh!!!! don't want your niece/nephews screwing up where society helped elevate you and I now do we. Well these are my own personal thoughts after all, yeah! I'm a loon. If you're not in a relationship at the moment, and you've been addicted to porn for a long while, and you have a remote possibility of getting into one.. break the habit, unless she/he is into it as well, then you're both good for each other! What's that math rule? A negative and a Negative=a positive? I suck at math.
