Bi- Polar

Chad (75.7.192.27) -

Hi...

I am married to the most wonderful women for the past 5 years, who is Bi-polar. We just found out today, although I have been telling her for years as well as her ex-husband. She finally decided to do something about it and get treated.

It's a funny thing really, all of this time that you think you know, but never having to deal with it I still wasn't totally sure. When my wife is "normal" everything is great, but when she is on her highs and lows........what a ride is has been. I can't even tell all of you the pain this disorder has caused all of us and the mental abuse she has put us all through. She had me believing several times that is was all me and the kids. So many hurtful things come out of one persons mouth. We have a beutiful daughter together and she has been the only reason why I stay. It has taken a mental toll on me as well.

You just can't talk to these people.

I hope the meds work, because I don't know how much more this family can endure.

9 months ago I meant this incredible man. One that was true, honest, caring, strong, can communicate, affectinate then in a blink of an eye he was irrational, harsh, sturn, had severe mood swings, thought that he was always right and no one can prove him wrong, he would go into rages when the day was nearly perfect between him and I. He finally has told me that he suffers from a mental illness he did not tell me specifically which one until him and i spoke.. i realized he is bi polar... after much talking he finally went to see a dr that informed him he is bi polar, manic depressive and suffers from ADD he has not been back since to the dr... things have gotten worse it seems....he was going to leave me in the middle of no where to prove a point.... he risk driving irratically on a busy highway until I would tell him I would be a nice girl..... I am at the point of being scared.... when in love you shouldnt be scared... he has another appt coming up 11/29 to actually get the medication he seriously needs... i dont know if this can be a healthy relatioship given his condition. his father suffers from being bi polar and manic depressive and his mother has stood by his side for 40 years... this is the example that i look up to because when things are great between us they are great but when they are bad they are bad..... we are both failry yong (28yrs old) and we have our whole life to live.... i need advice on how to deal with him... i am not saying he is all to blame as when he gets in his mood swings instead of me being sweet and understanding and calming i tend to get into defense mode... any and all advice is surely welcome....
