'Phone Psychic'

I spent almost $7,600 on phone psychics. I was stating to feel better and then one told me it was a waste of money. Now I can hardly get out of bed in the morning.

Hi Camille,

Welcome to my discussion board. I am sorry you lost almost $7,600 on psychic phone services. I am a psychologist and not a psychic phone services. While this is a large sum of money for some people, it is really only an expensive lesson.

The fact that you can hardly get out of bed in the morning tells me that you may be suffering from some symptoms of depression over what you believe to be an error in judgement. We all make mistakes many times in our life and you should not allow yourself to become depressed simply because you learned something about your belief system.

I do not believe in psychics, spiritual mediums nor fortune tellers of any variety. I believe that those who use these techniques are connecting with what Karl Jung called the collective unconscience and, in some rare cases, demomic communications.

While I am a minister and a psychologist, I recognize that there are many things we do not know and I doubt the credibility of those who consider their opinions to be the only correct ones-this includes myself. I have very strong opinions, based upon my education, experience and trainng, however, I am not the Pope and do not consider myself infallable.

I believe that there are three "spirits" working in the world: the spirit of good (Which I call the Creator), the spirit of evil (Which I call the spirit of Satan) and the individual's own spirit, which may be either, depending upon the choices they have made in life.

There are many similarities between these three spirits. There are also many differences. On this page you will find a link to "Find Light and Love." Although I do not know the author well, she seems very sincere and we do share beliefs in common, although we also disagree, sometimes sharply, on some subjects.

She obviously believes that she is doing the work of the Creator and her intentions are good. Whether she is right or not is subject to interpretation. However, I do not judge. I believe that it is the job of the Creator to decide that and not mine.

I believe that only the Creator knows what is best for us. I suggest that you consult your Higher Power, which I call the Creator, and ask His or Her advice. Reject the temptation to feel guilty over sincere attempts to find out the truth about spiritual matters. As long as you are sincere, the Creator will lead you in the direction you should follow.

And what were your expectations from a Psychic?

Did you want to avoid your own responsibility for your choices and decisions? Did you want to avoid your own responsiblity for not evaluating you relationships? Did you want to avoid your own responsiblity for ending a relationship you felt was over or not good for you?

If you thought a relationship was not good for you, do you really think the advice of a Psychic (real or not) would put it back on track?

It seems they all put a disclaimer that it is for entertainment purposes -- and very expensive entertainment at that!

Ted it sounds like you may not be real educated ... or if you are you have been limiited to things found in mainstream educational settings.

There are a lot of very interesting things happening out there, the most interesting are not found in universities, by and large. You perhaps shoud get out more and entertain the possibilty that just sounding superior may not make you so.
